PERIODIZED TRAINING

Periodization is a scientifically proven training method that is implemented
to ensure wrestlers receive the best possible results at a designated time
of the year (peak).  Our long term training approach with competing
intermittently and very sparingly is what has made our wrestlers successful.

At our club, we utilize four Mesocycles (phases) during a Macrocycle
(year) in which each phase introduces certain types of training for the
body to adapt to and benefit from while building towards a peak.

Microcycles (weeks) make up an entire phase, which are manipulated so
training for wrestlers is fresh.  For the most part during a particular phase,
specific training for specific energy systems are emphasized while others
de-emphasized for both psychological and physiological benefit and gains.
