PRE-SEASON PHASE
AUG 15-OCT 31

We kick off every new wrestling year with pre-season training, focusing
primarily on a high volume of work to build a strong foundation, both
muscularly and mentally so that when the intensity is increased during the
in-season (competition) phase, wrestlers' bodies and minds can handle it.

Reintroducing all of your basic skills are a must before any technical
corrections can be made.  Building upon these skills and constantly drilling
them to perfect technique is demanded.  In addition, combat conditioning
training is introduced as well as the Navy Seal workout to help strengthen
the body and mind and ultimately achieve a strong muscular endurance
base so that when it is time to compete, it is easier than the training
because your body has already handled a tremendous amount of volume.
